Quick Summary#

Samsung is expanding its audio lineup with the introduction of two new WiFi speakers and updated soundbar models. The new devices are engineered to provide high-quality audio while maintaining a discreet presence in home environments. The release includes the Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 speakers, as well as the HW-QS90H and refreshed HW-Q990H soundbars.

These products feature advanced technologies such as AI Dynamic Bass Control and proprietary waveguides. The new audio gear is scheduled to be displayed at CES 2026, offering consumers a range of options from affordable all-in-one solutions to high-fidelity spatial audio systems.

Music Studio Series: Design and Audio Quality#

Samsung has designed the new WiFi speakers to integrate seamlessly into various living room atmospheres. While not as inconspicuous as the Samsung Frame, the Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 utilize a minimalist, gallery-inspired design. These devices are built to deliver crisp audio without dominating the visual space of a room.

The standard model, the Music Studio 5, is equipped with specific hardware to enhance sound delivery. It features a four-inch woofer and dual tweeters. To optimize the audio output, Samsung paired these components with a built-in waveguide. This design choice is intended to deliver better sound quality directly from the unit.

For user control, the Music Studio 5 offers multiple connectivity options. Users can control the speaker via voice commands or Bluetooth. The device is also compatible with WiFi casting and various streaming services, ensuring versatility in how audio is played.

Advanced Features in the Music Studio 7#

The Music Studio 7 represents an upgraded option within the new lineup, offering a 3.1.1-channel spatial audio configuration. This system utilizes top-, front-, left-, and right-firing speakers to create a more immersive 3D audio experience for the listener.

Samsung has incorporated advanced calibration technologies into the Music Studio 7. Users can calibrate the sound using the Samsung Audio Lab Pattern Control Technology. Additionally, this model shares the AI Dynamic Bass Control feature found in the Music Studio 5, which is designed to improve bass performance without causing distortion.

Regarding audio fidelity, Samsung states that the Music Studio 7 supports Hi-Resolution Audio. It is capable of processing audio with up to 24-bit/96kHz specifications. Furthermore, the speaker offers flexibility in usage, functioning as a standalone unit or being paired with other Samsung audio devices for a synchronized setup.

New Soundbar Offerings#

Samsung is rounding out its audio releases with two distinct soundbar options. The first is the HW-QS90H, marketed as the All-in-One Soundbar. It features a 7.1.2-channel system that includes 13 drivers, nine of which are wide-range speakers.

The All-in-One Soundbar is designed to provide deep bass without external hardware. It features a built-in Quad Bass Woofer system, which allows users to achieve deeper bass without a separate subwoofer. The unit also includes Samsung's Convertible Fit design, allowing it to be mounted on a wall or placed on a table. A built-in gyro sensor automatically adapts channel distribution based on the device's orientation.

The second soundbar update is to the flagship HW-Q990H. This model has been refreshed with two new features: Sound Elevation, which aims to make dialogue sound more natural, and Auto Volume, which regulates consistent volume across channels for a balanced sound profile.

Availability and Event Showcase#

All of the latest audio products announced by Samsung—including the Music Studio 5, Music Studio 7, HW-QS90H, and the refreshed HW-Q990H—are scheduled for a public showcase. These devices will be on display at CES 2026. This event will provide the first opportunity for industry observers and consumers to view the new lineup in person.
