Quick Summary#

Rokid has unveiled a new generation of smartglasses at CES 2026, moving away from display-heavy designs to focus on audio and AI integration. The new product, named Style, is a display-free AI wearable intended for all-day use. Unlike previous iterations, these glasses prioritize lightweight construction and compatibility with corrective prescriptions.

The device supports a wide range of AI engines, avoiding lock-in to a single large language model. Specifically, the glasses are compatible with ChatGPT and DeepSeek. Additionally, the hardware integrates with navigation and translation tools, including Google Maps and Microsoft AI translation.

Under the hood, Style utilizes a dual-chip architecture. This setup combines an NXP RT600 for low-power, always-on tasks and a Qualcomm AR1 for heavier AI and imaging workloads. Rokid claims this configuration allows the glasses to reach up to 12 hours of battery life under typical usage scenarios.

Design and Hardware Specifications 🕶️#

The Style glasses are engineered to be lighter than their predecessors. Weighing in at 38.5 grams, the device is designed to be worn comfortably throughout the day. The lenses are ultra-thin and feature anti-scratch coatings to ensure durability.

For users requiring vision correction, the glasses are compatible with standard prescriptions. The company also offers transition lenses in a variety of colors. The frames themselves are available in two distinct styles, allowing for user customization.

Compared to the Rokid smartglasses released earlier in the year, which included a display, the new Style model represents a shift toward a more minimalist, lightweight form factor. This reduction in weight is intended to facilitate the 'all-day use' goal set by the manufacturer.

Camera and AI Capabilities 📸#

Despite the lack of a display, the Style glasses feature a robust camera system. A 12MP camera with a Sony sensor is located on the front of the device, supporting video capture in 4K resolution.

Rokid has optimized the video recording for content creators. The camera can shoot in three different aspect ratios, which the company states makes it easier to create content for various social media platforms without post-processing.

Significant attention has been paid to recording duration. Style can record up to 10 minutes of continuous footage. Rokid explicitly highlights that this capability exceeds the roughly three-minute limit found on competing devices like the Meta Ray-Bans.

The AI functionality is powered by the aforementioned dual-chip setup. By supporting multiple engines, users are not restricted to a single ecosystem for AI queries or translation tasks.

Pricing and Availability 💵#

Consumers interested in the Style glasses can secure a unit now through reservations. A deposit of just one dollar is required to reserve a pair.

The official global release date is scheduled for January 19. Upon release, the glasses will carry a retail price of $300.

In a move toward accessibility, Rokid is offering a financial incentive for specific users. Purchases made for vision-impaired users will receive a $20 subsidy from the company, reducing the effective cost of the device.

Frequently Asked Questions#

The main feature is that they are display-free AI glasses designed for all-day use, featuring a dual-chip setup for battery efficiency and AI processing.

EA delays Battlefield 6 Season 2 to February 17

The second season of Battlefield 6 is being pushed back based on “community feedback.” On Tuesday, EA and Battlefield Studios said Season 2 will now arrive on February 17. Season 2 of Battlefield 6 had previously been scheduled for January 20, so we're looking at a delay of almost a month. As a consolation, the team is extending Season 1 through the start of the next season. "During our ongoing development, we've continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2," EA wrote in a blog post. The game came out of the gates hot following its October launch, selling over seven million copies over its first three days. But recent Steam reviews provide a glimpse into the "community feedback" that sparked the delay. "The Battle Pass is extremely predatory and very FOMO, while the season itself doesn't give a lot to offer," one review with over 450 “helpful” votes said. They called out the title for having "so much FOMO stuff that it becomes more stressful than fun." The Season 1 extension will include some bonus content. The Frostfire Bonus Path will give “players the chance to unlock new free and premium customization rewards, including a Weapon Package and a Soldier Skin, as well as XP Boosts, by advancing through the tiers of the Frostfire Bonus Path." The extension update arrives on January 20. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/gaming/ea-delays-battlefield-6-season-2-to-february-17-180306743.html?src=rss
