The Polícia Civil was notified to take over the investigation following the initial response by the Polícia Militar do RS. The area was secured as forensic teams gathered evidence.

Sequence of Events

According to reports, the conflict began when the property owner was conducting repairs in the patio. The noise generated by these repairs reportedly disturbed the tenant, who was sleeping at the time.

The 21-year-old tenant allegedly complained about the noise to the property owner. In response, the victim reportedly advanced against the young man with a knife.

Faced with this threat, the suspect reportedly retrieved a shovel. He allegedly struck the victim twice with the tool. The injuries sustained were fatal, and the man died immediately.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The Brigada Militar acted quickly to secure the area. Officers located and detained the suspect in the immediate vicinity of the rental property shortly after the incident.

Investigators seized key evidence from the scene. Both the shovel used in the attack and the knife allegedly wielded by the victim were collected for analysis.

The Polícia Civil has taken custody of the suspect and is leading the ongoing investigation. The identity of the victim was officially confirmed by the Civil Police as Evaldo José Rodrigues da Silva.
