Quick Summary#

A new project titled Bedtime has been released on GitHub, designed to help users fall asleep by watching JavaScript load. The project was shared on the popular technology discussion platform Hacker News under the 'Show HN' category, where it received 6 points and 1 comment.

The repository is hosted on GitHub by user sarusso. The concept utilizes the visual stimulation of code loading sequences as a sleep aid. This unique approach to digital wellness tools is now available for public viewing and contribution on the GitHub platform.

Project Overview and Origin#

The project, titled Bedtime, was published on January 12, 2026. It was introduced to the community via the 'Show HN' section of Hacker News, a forum dedicated to technology and computer science. 'Show HN' is a specific category where developers share their personal projects, prototypes, and creations with the community for feedback and exposure.

The project is hosted on the GitHub platform, a standard repository for software development. The creator is identified as user sarusso. The core concept of the project is to utilize the visual process of JavaScript loading as a mechanism to induce sleep, offering a novel alternative to traditional sleep aids.

Community Reception#

The project gained initial visibility through its posting on Y Combinator's Hacker News. Upon its publication, the post received 6 points from the community, indicating a positive reception among early viewers. Engagement on the post was modest, with 1 comment recorded at the time of the article's publication.

This level of engagement suggests that while the project is in its early stages, it has sparked interest within the developer community. The 'Show HN' platform often serves as a launchpad for innovative ideas, and the reception of 'Bedtime' reflects the community's openness to unique applications of web technology.

Technical Implementation#

The project relies on the JavaScript programming language to create its sleep-inducing visual effects. JavaScript is a versatile language commonly used for web development to create interactive and dynamic content. In this context, the loading and execution of JavaScript code are transformed into a visual spectacle intended to be calming or hypnotic for the viewer.

By focusing on the loading process, the project turns a typically background technical operation into the main user experience. This approach highlights the creative potential of standard web technologies when applied to non-traditional problems such as sleep disorders or general relaxation needs.

Availability and Access#

The Bedtime project is publicly available on GitHub. Interested users can visit the repository to view the source code, understand the implementation details, and potentially contribute to its development. The project is accessible via the GitHub URL associated with the user sarusso.

As an open-source project, it invites collaboration and modification from the developer community. Users looking for a digital method to assist with sleep can explore the repository to see if the project meets their needs or preferences.

EA delays Battlefield 6 Season 2 to February 17

The second season of Battlefield 6 is being pushed back based on “community feedback.” On Tuesday, EA and Battlefield Studios said Season 2 will now arrive on February 17. Season 2 of Battlefield 6 had previously been scheduled for January 20, so we're looking at a delay of almost a month. As a consolation, the team is extending Season 1 through the start of the next season. "During our ongoing development, we've continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2," EA wrote in a blog post. The game came out of the gates hot following its October launch, selling over seven million copies over its first three days. But recent Steam reviews provide a glimpse into the "community feedback" that sparked the delay. "The Battle Pass is extremely predatory and very FOMO, while the season itself doesn't give a lot to offer," one review with over 450 “helpful” votes said. They called out the title for having "so much FOMO stuff that it becomes more stressful than fun." The Season 1 extension will include some bonus content. The Frostfire Bonus Path will give “players the chance to unlock new free and premium customization rewards, including a Weapon Package and a Soldier Skin, as well as XP Boosts, by advancing through the tiers of the Frostfire Bonus Path." The extension update arrives on January 20. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/gaming/ea-delays-battlefield-6-season-2-to-february-17-180306743.html?src=rss
