Meta Appoints Dina Powell McCormick as President

Meta has appointed Dina Powell McCormick as its new president and vice chairman. The company announced that McCormick will join the management team to help guide overall strategy and execution. She brings extensive experience from both the financial sector and Republican administrations.

McCormick's career spans high-level roles in global finance and the U.S. government. She was most recently a top executive at merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners. Her appointment follows a trend of Meta hiring officials with significant political backgrounds.

Meta has appointed Dina Powell McCormick as its new president and vice-chairman. The company stated that McCormick will help guide its overall strategy and execution as part of the management team. McCormick joins Meta following a distinguished career in banking. She was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where she ran its Global Sovereign investment banking business. Most recently, she served as vice chair, president, and head of global client services at merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners.

McCormick has a significant history in Republican administrations. She served as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump during his first term. Additionally, she held several roles during the George W. Bush administration, including assistant secretary of state for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Her political connections extend to the legislative branch as well. McCormick is married to Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA). This appointment adds to the roster of Meta executives with deep ties to Washington, D.C.

McCormick's relationship with Meta began recently. She joined the company's board in April but resigned in December. Just a few weeks after stepping down from the board, she accepted this higher-profile executive position.

McCormick is the second former Trump official appointed to a prominent role at Meta this month. Last week, the company hired Curtis Joseph Mahoney as its chief legal officer. Mahoney was most recently a corporate vice president and general counsel at Microsoft. He previously served as a deputy US trade representative during the first Trump administration.
