Dupont Addresses Team Consistency IssuesPreparations for the Champions Cup ClashThe Road Ahead for Stade Toulousain

Quick Summary#

Antoine Dupont has publicly addressed concerns regarding Stade Toulousain's performance consistency, specifically noting a pattern of decline in the closing moments of games. The scrum-half, who is scheduled to reclaim the captain's armband on Sunday, made the remarks while looking ahead to a critical Champions Cup matchup against Saracens of London.

In his assessment, Dupont characterized the team's late-game struggles as a source of frustration. The admission serves as a candid acknowledgment of the challenges facing the French club as they approach a decisive European fixture. With the match against the English side approaching, the focus has shifted to how the team can rectify these lapses in concentration and stamina to secure a favorable result.

Dupont Addresses Team Consistency Issues#

Antoine Dupont has shed light on the internal frustrations at Stade Toulousain regarding their inability to maintain intensity throughout the full eighty minutes. The player's comments suggest a pattern where the team loses its footing as the match draws to a close, a trend that has likely impacted their results in recent weeks. By labeling the situation as 'desolating,' the captain indicates a strong desire for improvement and a higher standard of professionalism from the squad.

This admission is significant given the timing of the statement. With the Champions Cup clash against Saracens imminent, the pressure is mounting on the team to demonstrate resilience. The ability to close out games is often what separates top-tier teams from the rest, and Dupont's critique highlights an area that requires immediate attention. The team must now translate this self-awareness into tangible on-field improvements.

— Antoine Dupont, Scrum-half

Preparations for the Champions Cup Clash 🏆#

The upcoming match against Saracens represents a pivotal moment in the Champions Cup campaign. As Antoine Dupont prepares to lead the side, the tactical focus will likely be on endurance and mental fortitude during the final phases of the game. The opposition, known for their physicality and strategic kicking, will undoubtedly look to exploit any signs of fatigue or disorganization in the Stade Toulousain ranks.

To counter this, the coaching staff and players will need to implement strategies that ensure a full 80-minute performance. The return of Dupont to the captaincy provides a boost in leadership, which will be essential in navigating the high-pressure environment of a European knockout-style game. The team's ability to execute their game plan without dropping intensity will be the key metric for success in this encounter.

The Road Ahead for Stade Toulousain#

Looking beyond the immediate fixture, Antoine Dupont's comments serve as a rallying cry for Stade Toulousain. Identifying the problem is the first step toward fixing it, and the scrum-half has clearly drawn a line in the sand regarding the standards expected at the club. The 'disappointing' nature of their late-game performances must be addressed if the team harbors ambitions of lifting the Champions Cup trophy.

Ultimately, the responsibility falls on the collective unit to rectify these issues. While Dupont leads by example, the solution requires a unified effort from the entire squad to maintain focus and energy levels regardless of the scoreboard or time remaining. The match against Saracens will serve as a litmus test for whether this self-critique has resulted in the necessary adjustments to their game management.

The hottest fashion item for women on Wall Street? Really expensive pants.

The hottest fashion item for women on Wall Street? Really expensive pants.

William Edwards/Business Insider Wide-leg, high-waist pants are the top trend for women in finance this season. Popular brands include Aritzia, Lululemon, Abercrombie, Arcteryx, and Club Monaco. Premium fabrics and higher price points define the most sought-after women's business pants. The hottest fashion item for women in finance right now isn't a flashy accessory like a scarf or a watch, or an expensive pair of shoes. It's a good old pair of pants. This week, I did some boots-on-the-ground reporting in Midtown Manhattan, visiting stores to ask about their best-selling women's business attire items. Time and again, pants kept coming up. But we're not talking about any ordinary pants — in most cases, they're made with comfortable, high-quality fabric and fall on the pricier side, ranging from around $60 to $350 a pair. Often, they're also a bit baggy. "I think wide-cut, high-waist is the trend," said Cassie Henry, a trader at Gresham Investment Management. Here are five of the big hitters in the Wall Street women's pants battle: Aritzia William Edwards/Business Insider Pants name: The Effortless Pant Price: $148 Aritzia has crushed earnings lately, pushing its share price up 119% over the last year. One of the drivers of that growth? Its $148, TikTok-famous Effortless Pant. Lululemon William Edwards/Business Insider Pants name: Daydrift High-Rise Trouser Price: $148 Lululemon probably started the expensive pants craze, albeit with their athleisure wear. It was therefore no surprise that the brand launched its Daydrift pants in 2025. "At some points it's completely sold out," a sales associate said. "I"d say it's most women's go-to whenever they come in looking for anything." Abercrombie Abercrombie & Fitch reported positive earnings on Wednesday, but its growth may be slowing. SOPA Images/Getty Images Pants name: Sloane Tailored Pant Price: $63 For millennials, it's hard not to associate Abercrombie with jeans. However, the brand has made a strategic shift towards fancier attire. "That's where everybody gets their pants from," said Nyla Legemah, a customer success manager for benchmarks and indices at London Stock Exchange Group in New York. Arc'teryx William Edwards/Business Insider Pants name: Veilance Khara Pant Price: $350 Arc'teryx is predominantly an outerwear brand — think an even more intense version of Patagonia. But the brand has gotten in on the pants gold rush, too. "We have a lot more die-hards for the menswear stuff," a sales associate said. "But they are obviously branching out into the women's line, so I think it's gaining momentum and we're seeing a lot more women coming in." Club Monaco William Edwards/Business Insider Pants name: High-Rise Fluid Crepe Trouser Price: $248 Club Monaco goes for the old-money vibe, and they're priced like it, too. A sales associate said their high-rise fluid crepe trouser was probably their most popular item. "I know my friends like Club Monaco," Henry, the trader, said.
