Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition Arrives March 26

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is receiving a major upgrade for Nintendo's next-generation console. The enhanced edition, officially titled Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, is scheduled to launch on March 26.

This release bridges the gap for fans awaiting a brand-new Mario platformer on the Switch 2. The updated version expands the original game with significant new content, including a dedicated multiplayer hub, additional playable characters, and innovative control options designed to welcome new players into the Flower Kingdom.

The centerpiece of the upgrade is Bellabel Park, a fresh area within the Flower Kingdom designed specifically for social play. This new hub opens up a variety of multiplayer experiences that were not available in the original release.

Players can dive into a dedicated local multiplayer section featuring 17 co-op and versus modes. These can be played on a single console or via GameShare, allowing up to three additional players to join using their own Switch or Switch 2 systems in the same physical location.

For those seeking a different kind of challenge, the Game Room Plaza supports both local and online play for six distinct minigames. This mode requires each participant to have their own system, with support for up to eight players via local wireless or twelve players through online multiplayer.

Bellabel Park also hosts the Toad Brigade Training Camp. Here, players can tackle challenges based on levels from the main game. These can be completed solo or with up to three friends, though only one Switch 2 console is required for the group.

The upgrade extends beyond multiplayer, introducing substantial additions to the core single-player and co-op experience. A major highlight is the ability to finally play as Rosalina, a fan-favorite character joining the roster.

The device features a button to trigger speech or hold to mute it, and it can also play music. With support for 11 languages and the ability to chatter at set times, it shares similarities with Nintendo's Alarmo device.
